Initialize Celestron AVX mount

I have connected successfully (I think) to the mount. The scope cross hairs appear and the telescope tab gives a comforting green 'connected' status message.

However, when I try to slew the mount I get error messages 227 and/or 228. That is the software is looking for me to 'initialize' the telescope. When I try this I get a message suggesting that the 'device is not compatible'  

I have tried with both the GPS connected and disconnected from the mount.

What do I need to do to:

a) Initialize the telescope?

b) Slew the mount to the target?

XP compatibility

I just bought TheSky serious astro version not realizing it will not run on XP.   I must use XP because there are no drivers for my camera for later versions of windows.

Is there an earlier version that is XP compatible that I can get a copy of?  I am willing to forgo official support.

Mount won't slew

Last night I was testing my MyT at a remote observatory for the first time. I was imaging M101. Everything was going fine. It crossed the Meridien and I told the mount to do a flip. I got a message that said "The mount cannot slew" and provided a list of possible solutions. The only way I could park it was to power it down, start over and then it parked fine. Is there a setting in the software to resolve this? I can't seem to find it.

Can I get my serial number?

Years ago I bought TheSkySix Professional.  I have not used it for years and since then have changed computers.  Now I have managed to  locate the four disks of TheSky but do not see the serial number and thus cannot install the software on my XP pro OS computer.  My grandson, who is 8 years old and known at his school as "Mr. Planet" is coming to visit in two weeks and I would like to introduce him to TheSky.  Is there any way I can get my serial number or am I just out of luck?  I am sure I bought the software directly from SoftwareBique.

Registering a mount

I have 2 questions:

1. I have purchased a Paramount MX+ form a private seller and wish to register the mount. The mount was purchased last year by the original owner. I am in possession of the serial number for the mount.

2. I purchased a copy of the SkyX Pro for which I pay an annual subscription. This copy was not associated with a mount. I also bought the Camera add on and T-point. Although these subscriptions appear as active on my subscription page, the serial numbers are not displayed for the CAO and T-Point. How would I obtain these serial numbers?

QHY IC8300

Hello! I have a QHY IC8300 and the ascom drivers do not work with Sequence Generator Pro. When I take an exposure the images change each time. Some will show stars next exposures show more,less or no stars and changes each exposure. SGP recommended I try a different software. Wondering if anyone has experience with the camera or a similar issue. Thank you!

Atik One 6 camera will not work with TheSkyX

Dear All,

I have recently purchased the Paramount MyT and I also have an Atik One 6 camera (with build in filter wheel), which I'm trying to connect to TheSkyX software on my MAC book pro late 2015 (TheSkyX is up to date). I'm getting the "No ATIK camera found" error. I have checked the artemishscservice and it's running. if I restart the artemishscservice process or if I unplug the USB and re-plug it or turn of and then turn on the camera I can hear the filter wheel being initialised. I have tested the camera on my old Windows 10 PC and the ATIK One 6 is working ok with TheSkyX using the ASCOM driver. I want to use the MAC as it's much faster and has far more storage. Screen shot attached below, Please Help.

Purchased add-ons are showing up in subscriptions without serial numbers

Camera add-on and TPoint were just purchased and show up in my orders.  On the summary page showing what I have ordered, neither of these items are showing a serial number and I see a "No Action Possible" statement on the right.  The FAQ I read doesn't seem to address this issue as it assumes the serial number will show up. 

Can you tell me what I need to do to get the serial number?

How do I send an order to my order to my observatory (which has a house address) instead of home base?

I have just ordered a counterweight bar extension and didn't see an option for that.

Daytime Observations

Hello,

I currently have a Paramount ME with a Celestron C14 mounted on it running the SkyX program.  Currently for our project we are doing daytime observations and was wondering is there a  way to include a keep out zone for certain areas not just for the horizon.  An example would be that we would want the telescope to not slew across the sun when we are moving from point to point or if we are tracking something and it did not slew through the sun accidentally.  Is there a way to do this or would we just have to be extremely careful for this to not happen?  Thanks!

using the MX+ built-in focuser

How do I connect my SCT focuser to the built-in focuser included with the SkyX camera add-on feature.  I currently have attached, a MicroTouch motor the the telescope's focuser.  Do I need other equiipment or cables?  Thanks
