there are 2 files.What is the setup.exe file for and what is the skyX professional edition.msi for?
In the skyX pro folder there are 2 files.The first one is the setup.exe file and the second one the skyX professional edition.msi file.Which one do i execute(use) for the original install of the skyX pro edition?If the original setup file of the skyX pro edition is the setup.exe,what is the skyX professional edition.msi file for?(what does the skyX professional edition.msi file stand up for?) I mean,do i replace any of the original files of the original install of the skyX pro edition with that file and which?Pls describe me detailly(step-by-step) what i have to do in order to install the skyX pro edition successfully in my computer.

change or add a operating system
I have Sky X pro for mac. I have found that my Takahashi Temma 2 does not respond with this program and Mac OS. 10.12 and I am wondering if it is Mac or my Takahashi is the problem. I bought a PC and also am wondering if I would have better results with a PC and sky pro which would mean I would have to change my sky x Pro to windows and how would I go about that. I would buy a multi OS subscription which is listed as an add on or would I cancel and change and also would I have better luck with a PC? Please let me know what would be the solution to this problem. I also have an atlas mount which also doesn't´t respond in your program. Again is it a problem with Mac or Sky X pro? Arturo Rosales

Power to FLI filter wheel
Looking through the power cables I see one that will go from the mount to a FLI camera, and I plan to order one of those. What I would also like is a connector from the smaller 12V connector to the FLI filter wheel. I'm not sure if I see one of those on the list of cables that cam be ordered.

Request to confirm if TheSkyX supports my telescope mount and camera etc
Hi
I am getting back into astro imaging and re-working my scope, mount and cameras - and supporting software to use. A close friend has seriously recommended TheSKyX for the breadth of functionality but also the responsiveness to support and product development and enhancements.
But I need to ensure that it supports my current equipment and any future changes - especially considering the initial purchase cost etc..
Currently I have a Losmandy G11 Gemini 1 Level 4 mount and have a new Starlight Xpress Trius SX-694 camera with SX mini filter wheel with integrated OAG using a Lodestar 1 guide camera.
Are these, particular the G11 via Gemini 1, supported. I have looked on the support page for mounts and it does list G11 as natively supported and also the Gemini but doesn't mention whether 1 or 2 (and Version 1 is quite old now) - but am also curious as to the difference between the G11 support and the Gemini support.
It would also be very useful if someone could provide me with any connectivity information for connecting to the Gemini 1 in order to control the scope for auto guiding etc. (I am that rusty at the moment! ;-))
For future enhancements Gemini 2 is under consideration and I also have a separate Sky Watcher AZ EQ 6 - but that does look as if it is supported too.

MYT mount
I am interested in the MYT mount to install on the MYT tripod. The MYT mount appears to be very robust and finely engineered and built. Using a belt drive seems interesting where if I understand correctly using the belt versus gears is so as to eliminate or minimize backlash. I see that the belt drive system is used on all of your mounts including the massive fork drive and obviously is well proven and robust?
My questions really regard the MYT tripod. Are the components of the tripod machined aluminum except for the fasteners of stainless steel? Is it possible to provide several photos at different angles of the MYT tripod so as to have a better idea of how it looks and the functions of use?
I previously owned a Particle Wave tripod that was all CNC machined and looked and functioned flawlessly; it was a work of art. I sold it so as to go to Australia to work with the Parkes 64m radio telescope for my doctorate. Now that is accomplished and I am back in the States, I am looking to get back into astronomy observations from my back yard. I know it seems odd to go from 64m to 152mm; but one must adapt. Thank you.

TheSkyX and Celestron Scopes
Have there been any efforts to interface to the Celestron SkyQ interface for telescope control? Celestron hand controllers are now coming with micro USB ports for communication. Not sure how all this factors in, but the serial interface is becoming antiquated, and I would prefer not to run my telescope with an iPad if I can help it in the long run. Your software package is the most complete all around observatory suite, and I would prefer to stick with it for future expansion.

Solar Tracking Rate
I have a Paramount ME. How can I change the tracking rate to SOLAR? I thought I understood that when you slew to the SUN it will automatically start tracking at the SOLAR rate, but the indicator in the software says "tracking at sidereal rate" when I am fixed on the sun!

Moravian ccd with ccdsoft
Hi to all. I wonder if anyone knows if it is possible to control a Moravian ccd with ccdsoft / the sky 6 pro or it requires the sky X . In the web site this is not clear , the drivers seem to be compatible only with the sky X.

Sky X Pro accessing the St-237a camera failure
In order to update to the latest version of the Sky X pro, I had to upgrade my OS from XP to Win 10. I was finally able to get all the software in my observatory work and communicating again with each other. However only one camera fails to work now. It is my ST-237a, which is a parallel port camera. when I try to connect to it and choose LPT1 I get the following error "Unable to open file. Error =702". Close it and still try to connect to the camera and get the error "SBIG driver: Device not found. Error = 30027" I have updated drives for the camera and that night be the issue. I also tried to load the old drivers that are guaranteed to work with the ST-237a and that does not fix the problem either. has anyone gotten the ST-237a to work on windows 10 OS?

Distorted Images ?
I have been asked to submit the attached images by Celestron USA, via the UK importers, to see if my Paramount ME would be the cause of the star distortion in images 3 & 4.
There are 4 images:-
3 - M 3, 5 minute exposure (guided) at the time East of the meridian, ie right side of telescope to gravity.
4 - M78, 15 minute exposure (guided) at the time West of the meridian, ie left side of telescope to gravity.
5 - M 3, the same as image 3, but using my 5 inch APO. Using the same mount but with a smaller format camera.
6 - NGC 2237, 30 minute exposure (guided), same camera as images 3 & 4 but using my 5 inch APO.
Do you think the mount is likely to cause these distortions or can you identify something else ?
P.S The telescope is 14 inch Edge HD.

I have a copy of The Sky 6 Professional that is several years old (copyright 2005). I would like to install The Sky on a new computer. The Serial Number is {redacted}. Can I download the software? Can I upgrade my prior software to the latest, and if so, what is the cost? I am using a PC with Windows 10. Thank you.
