I am already an owner of the Sky X Professional Edition. Will this be sold without the Sky package included?
Will there be options to buy a mini pier for the Helium Tripod so longer telescopes won't bump into the tripod legs? Also, are their any plans for some type of universal wedge?
Hi i have ordered one, could you tell me when you will have inventory to ship? thx
Hi,
As you may be aware, the MPC has not been updating their orbital elements files for Software, including the format for TheSky. To help out comet observers worldwide I've been maintaining those elements for the past months: See http://astro.vanbuitenen.nl/cometels
Since the discovery of 2I/Borisov however, I've received questions from several experienced comet observers using the format for TheSky.
The hyperbolic orbit of the interstellar comet seems to be causing issues, at least in older versions (v6*?). I've had reports of the v6 software hanging, or duplicating the preceding comet (C/2019 Q3) during the import. When elements were entered manually, the resulting ephemerides were not quite accurate (possibly due to the use of a near-parabolic algorithm???). This is of course very understandable given the comets unique and completely unprecedented hyperbolic orbit.
However, to be able to point those people in the right direction (which may be an upgrade of TheSky) I have 2 questions:
- Will TheSkyX be able to import 2I/Borisov from http://astro.vanbuitenen.nl/cometelements?format=thesky and display it correctly/accurately? Or is this something that still needs to be addressed in a future update?
- In older versions (v6.?), the number of comets that can be imported is apparently limited to 1000. Is this limitation still valid in TheSkyX, or are more comets allowed in more recent versions? (If so, since which version)
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Kind regards,
Gideon van Buitenen
FORK DRIVE DIMENSIONS
Are there any engineering drawings available of the mounts so I can check the dimensions to fit out Alluna 0.5m RC Scope eg clearance between back of scope and the base of the fork and also the layout for the dome to ensure the intersection of the RA and Dec axes are at the dome centre
ROBOTIC OBSERVING SCHEDULING SOFTWARE
Any plans to provide robotic scheduling software so lists of targets can be provided and the observatory opens up if clear and observes the list of objects?
Hi
When do I expect to receive my ordered part for the MYT mount.
Thank you
Hasan
We have an MKS4000 running an RCOS 0.6 meter telescope that appears to have been damaged by nearby (not a direct hit) lightning. SkyX is returning checksum errors and the telescope will home but we lose control after that and cannot connect back to it remotely.
I suspect the serial interface was damaged by a surge, or more. What are our options to get it back in service?
Hi-
I have SkyX 10.5.0 build 10305, and would appreciate some comments on how to relieve my current problem:
I have the Paramount MX+, with a 14" Meade LX200 on it.
The motherboard was replaced maybe a year ago.
I have fiddled with the Tpoint add-on, and have maybe 24 points or more of data. I have received the "run a supermodel" popup, so I have done it. Each time I use the scope, however, I always have to adjust the pointing using the finder scope. I hit "add pointing data" each time, but the pointing error does not seem to be getting better.
Should this be the case? I would like to be able to look at deep sky objects, which are too faint to identify with the finder scope.
It seems to me that I must be missing something....
I have a digital camera, and I understand that I could use it to do a thorough automatic calibration, but I don't trust that will work since I have so much adjusting to do each time I want to point at something.
Advice appreciated -- thanks!!! Greg Ojakangas
This tripod is on back order if ordered from High Point Scientific. If I order directly from Software Bisque, is it available now, or will it also be on back order here?
I tiered all the eos cameras with no luck I think we need a new driver
Hi,
I wasn't really sure where to post this. I bought a MYT Software Suite license on October 9, 2019 invoice INV34983 and I'm getting automated messages saying my license has expired. Can you look into this for me? Perhaps I did something wrong when I renewed the license.

Derek Fielder
1. After 10 years using CCDSOFT 5 and The Sky 6, I've noticed strange things happening. For example, one night the FITS headers RA, and mostly DEC were being incremented by minutes of arc for each exposure even though I was successfully autoguiding (not on a moving object!). To add World Coords. I had to edit each FITS header to restore the static RA, DEC. I think its time to move to newer software.
So I want to check if my serial number XXXXXXXX for The Sky6 Professional Edition entitles me to the upgrade price for The Sky X Professional. I use an SBIG STL large format CCD camera. I assume that I will also need the Camera Addon option in order to do astrometry, image links, etc.
2. I have two Windows laptops, primary and backup that I use for my home observatory. Can I install TheSkyX on both, or would I need to buy it twice?
3. What is the recommended way to add UCAC4, if possible?
Thank you for having made wonderful products that have been essential to my research!
Excited about this upcoming product. Two queries:
support for Atik cameras?
support for the TI dome (DDW) via the legacy serial port?
thanks
David
Could a moderator or presales contact me privately if required.
I had the full purchase of SkyX Pro in 2011; but due to a hiatus with other life commitments the renewal wasn't placed.
I'm curious if I can still renew or do I have to purchase the product all over again(which seems excessive if true).
Thank you
I would like to request native support for the ZWO EAF focuser.
Thanks,
Bob
We have just succeeded installing TheSkyX Professional software and run our old Paramount ME drive. We now want to order Tpoint, but there seems to be two versions: A cheap one at 149$ and a less cheap one at $249. Which one is the right one. We are using a Windows 10 system.
Yours
Søren
I've been assuming I was going to get this when available, but I just looked in the supported equipment list and was stunned to see that SBIG is not supported. Neither is QHY. Leaves me out.
Will support for these be added by release time?
