Selling A Bisque Mount

Hello,

 I'm selling my MX mount and I'd like to know what I can tell prospective buyers about downloading and registering software.

I received The Sky X Professional Edition with the mount which I have on a DVD and I will be ship this to the buyer with the mount. I also have T-Point Add on, Camera Add On, and a Multi OS and SIx License Add On.  All of the Add-ons were downloads, which are registered to me.  I believe they can be downloaded again and re-registered to the buyer.  Is this the correct?

The Sky / Level One / vers. 5

I acquired "The Sky" via Sky & Telescope magazine, and have loved it for years.

I recently had to upgrade to a Windows 10 laptop, and my copy won't work with it.

My favorite aspects are that it was basic, simple, and easy to control, yet gave me everything I wanted.

The current "The Sky" seems to be for iOS only, but otherwise just what I'm looking for.

I was wondering if there is anything even close to the 'old' "The Sky" available to work with Windows 10, or an upgrade that will let my disc work with Windows 10.

Focus control with Canon DSLR 5dmark IV or III and Canon 500mm f4 lens

I am considering this the MyT mount for my astrophotography endeavors.  I would like to know if the Software Sky supports this type of setup and you can actually use the lens motor for focus through the software integration and maybe even autofocus, or would a person have to use an external motor like robofocus with belt around the focus collar on the lens in order to automate the focusing.

QHY5L-iim - Any chance of this ever being supported on OS X?

I am very interested in taking the plunge into TheSkyX Professional ecosystem (which would include the camera add-on and possibly others).

My main goal is to be able to complete an entire imaging session in OS X - I have Bootcamp installed, and I have been reluctantly using Windows as my imaging OS for the past 3 years, but I would love nothing more than finally leave Windows forever.

I have been looking through supported camera tables and supported mount tables and it is hard to get a definitive answer, but I believe from what I can piece together, the QHY5L-ii is not supported by TheSkyX on OS X? 

Is this correct? Are there any plans to ever support the QHY5L-ii on OS X? Having a look through the github repository, they have indeed released (at least a static driver) for OS X - so the excuse of no formal support no longer holds up. Also, the QHY5L-ii is the same hardware as the Orion AutoGuider Pro, right? I still haven't figured out why one camera would be supported but the other wouldn't be. Is this simply because the USB product ID is different for the two cameras?

I am simply looking for a solution that allows me to complete my imaging session on OS X. If that entails selling my QHY5L for a better supported guiding camera then please let me know if that is what is required.

My current imaging setup:

  • Sky-Watcher AZ/EQ 6 Pro
  • QHY5L-iim
  • ZWOASI 1600m cooled

Ideally, the user will use TheSky to locate a star, and move the telescope to point at that star.

Renewing SkyX Pro Sub + have Tpoint Add on = Camera Add-on too?

I have a lapsed Sky X Pro serial and the T-point add-on, and I'm looking at what renewing the subscription does.

On page http://www.bisque.com/sc/content/SubscriptionExplanation.aspx it says "TheSkyX Professional Edition's subscription renewal includes the Camera Add On, Dome Add On, and the TPoint Add On." So if I renew (my expired) Sky X Pro for $100, I will get a new serial that activates these Add ons and allows downloads for a year?

microleveler bound

When they installed the mount on the pier it seems that they didn't read the procedures. Now I am stuck with a bound microleveler. I have tried to follow the procedure described in the manual, but no matter what the microleveler doesn't disengage. The mount is about 1/4" above the pier plate and the leveler protrudes about 1/8" below the bottom of the mount below the plate. Above the plate the microleveler is tight against the top of the plate and the knob does not want to rotate in any direction. How can I get this problem solved?

Tpoint

I have owned and operated my Paramount ME since the early 2000's (2003-4 ? ). It has operated flawlessly in my observatory. 

However, I have upgraded my computers several times since 2003.  Now it seems I have a problem integrating T-Point and "The Sky Pro Version 6" ( I upgraded from "the Sky Level 5" which came with the mount ) I bought a T-Point ADD ON later. 

If I go back to the older computers and open  "The Sky / Edit / Insert New Object /  T-Point model appears  in the drop down list but when I go to my newer computers and do the same T-Point does not appear. I do get a dialog box about trying  REGEDIT because portions of the programs fail to register when I try to copy them to a newer computer.

Now that I have stated my problem my question is this. If I purchase a new version of the "The Sky" for several hundred dollars will I be able to integrate both T-Point and the "The Sky" ?  I should mention that I bought a Universal Subscription several years back but I let that subscription lapse. During the subscriptions active period I updated all of my software so I have several versions and serial numbers. I have tried every possible combination I can think of but nothing seems to work I am decent with computers but nowhere near an engineer or programmer's experience.

Hi everyone,I'm a new boy on the Bisque block!

I'm just about to have what many amateurs regard as a dream,... to buy a paramount me2 from a guy who bought it and hasn't taken out of its box...ever!!!! (Job thing and all that apparently).These things don't happen to me.....

If it's ok, and looks as if thats true when I get to it, make a note of any serial number that I can find, and check any software that comes with it, can you provide any sort of warranty for me? I know it's a long shot but i've got to ask.

More to the point, can you tell me what to expect inside the box when i get to it? 

I'll get any paperwork that I can get my paws on.

Hello,

I recently purchased a copy of "Horizons Instructor's Edition" which included "The Sky" CD.  Apparently the CD is an older version as it will not work with my Windows 7.  Is there a possibility that upon providing proof that I have this edition that you may request that I can have a current copy of "The Sky"?

Sample Folder That Will Not Save Mount Selection

Hello Brian,

Here is a zipped folder (lacking all sub-folders). It is renamed because I have kept it in my current documents along with a working folder. Hope this helps. I'm curious what the problem is.

Cannot connect to dome

I am attempting to connect to a RoboDome by Technical Innovations. I am using a PC running SkyX Professional on Windows 10 and connecting through an ethernet cable with a USB adaptor. When I select Telescope -> Telescope Setup and choose Dome Setup I picked the ASCOM Dome Chooser. After that I receive an error: "Driver setup method failed: "ASCOMDome.Dome" Telescope not connected." There is a connection as far as I can tell in Windows and I can see which Com port the connection goes to. Also, I have the latest ASCOM version installed. It is not clear to me what the error might be.

If I choose Digital Dome Works for the Dome setup and have it point to the correct Com port, I get "Error: command failed. Error = 206." Then I get a notice in Windows that it does not recognize the USB device and that there was an error. Checking the Device Manager in Windows shows that the connection that was previously there has now been removed.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thinking about purchasing SkyX Serious or Pro

Hi - I bought a Celestron Telescope a little while ago 50/50 with a mate who has now moved across to the other side of the country and I have now gone to register the SkyX Light edition but it is saying it is already registered so I assume that either

1) I have registered already (and forgotten - it happens :) , or 

2) my mate did (Name Andrew Pxxxxxx)

The About Sky page shows the serial number which I have attached. Reason for the question is I have gone ahead with the astrophotography and Andrew has left the scope with myself and I want to upgrade to SkyX Serious or Pro.

I also wish to get Camera Add-on - Can I get this with Serious Edition or only with Pro. I've read all over the forums and FAQs etc but its not clear. 

I am also interested in Tpoint

I gather my ZWO filter wheel I will need to control with ASCOM.

Serious SkyX won't open

I just reloaded my Serious SkyX, restarted my computer and tried to open the program from the short cut icon on my desktop.

(Win 7 professional).

All I can get is a blank white screen, if I right click I can get 'Preferences', Left click I get "Find, Date Time, Labels'... box etc.

Also got 'No Device Selected  Error = 225' but never the main home screen.

Do you have the capacity to accept EFT payment?

Have Purchased the Pro version of SkyX and can not find where the serial number is to activate it. Have a Nikon camera plus other astro cameras but need the serial number. Please can anyone help
