I purchased a copy of your TheSky Version 4 software twenty years ago (Serial # {redacted}). Later, I bought a newer version with two disks but, after installation, I lost those disks and the serial number.
I used TheSky to import my database of ancient Chinese stars after coordinates conversion. My database was in form of Excel spreadsheet. I was able to import and form TheSky database and plot star maps with English and Chinese star names satisfactorily.
Over the years, my computer changed from Chinese Windows 3, Windows 95, Windows XP, and now to Windows 8. During the course, my old TheSky works but has registry problem.
I am willing to upgrade TheSky to a new version. I don't have a telescope. So, interface with a telescope is not important to me. All I need are,
(1) compatible with my Windows 8.
(2) able to import database in form of Excel spreadsheet to form new TheSky database and plot sky maps.
Would you please tell me what version of your software is most suitable to me? How to purchase it? Directly from Bisque? Does Amazon have it?
