I hope that my technology handicapped self is able to explain this well! I am using the Sky X First Light Edition.
I am wondering why I am unable to get the software to find an object by its SAO number? For example- if I go to the 'FIND' pull down menu. And, then the 'ADVANCED' folder tab. I am then able to get the option to Find By Name Or Catalog Number. I have gone down to the selection of >Stellar Objects, and I've gone to the many, many SAO numbered selections. But, for example if I click on SAO 98967 for the star Regulus and click to select it, the software tells me at the top that 'SAO 98967 was not found'. However, if I simply type in the name of the star Regulus and click 'FIND' the software pulls it up with all of its data. NGC, etc. including Name 3: SAO 98967. And, it will put on the star screen the constellation Leo and a red target dot around the star. And for example the exact thing with the star Perkhad. I can enter its SAO number of 8220 and it will tell me it was not found. But, I can enter Perkhad's name, and it will go right to it with all of its information along with its image and constellation.
The same thing for every SAO object that I try to pull up. I am not figuring out how to get the SAO find feature to function.
I have set the time clock and the date to align with objects that I wish to view. So, I know that this is not the problem. I'm not putting in stars and SAO data for the winter months with my software set for early May.
Please provide me the assistance to figure out how to be able to go to the 'Find' menu and go to the SAO selections and get the software to go to this. I am wanting to upgrade to the Sky X Serious to be able to control my telescope and find objects through my laptop and software. I just want to figure out this puzzle first.
