Adapter for AP1600 Pier

I bought an observatory that has an excellent pier in it. It still has the AP1600 flat surface adapter bolted into a metal cap welded onto the pier.

What's the best way to get my ME II mounted on this? I assume a custom plate need to be made to bolt into the hole pattern created for the 1600 flat surface adapter.

Suggestions?
